The challenge

This Plaza Midwood home sits under mature oaks, and the shaded north and east walls were coated in green algae — the classic Charlotte shaded-lot problem. The homeowner had been quoted for new siding on the worst elevation. The vinyl itself was sound; it was simply alive with growth, plus gray road film and spider-webbed soffits everywhere else.

Our approach

We pre-treated the algae walls with our soft-wash mix and gave it a full dwell so the solution killed growth at the root rather than just bleaching the surface. Everything was rinsed at garden-hose pressure — siding, soffits, fascia, shutters, and foundation walls — followed by a spot-free window rinse. Landscaping along the foundation was pre-wet and covered before we started, then rinsed clean after.

The outcome

The siding came back to its original bright white with zero streaking and zero damage to paint or trim — the new-siding quote went in a drawer.
