Gray, Green Wood Brought Back to Warm and Welcoming

Wood-safe washing plus brightening that erases weathering — and preps every board for stain or sealant.

Sunlit wooden deck boards after cleaning

What deck & fence restoration includes

Wood is the one surface where pressure washing most often goes wrong — too much pressure furs the grain, gouges soft spots, and forces water deep into boards. We wash decks and fences at wood-safe pressure with a wide fan and a brightening agent that reverses gray UV weathering, kills green growth between boards, and opens the grain so stain or sealant bonds properly.

The visit covers deck floors, railings, balusters, steps, and skirting, plus fence runs on both faces where we have access. If you’re planning to stain afterward, this is the exact prep work stain manufacturers require — many of our customers book us two weeks before their staining contractor.

  • Wood-safe low-pressure wash

Wide-fan rinse that cleans without furring or gouging the grain.

  • Brightener to reverse graying

Restores warm wood tone and neutralizes the wash for stain prep.

  • Railings, steps & skirting

Every visible board, not just the floor you stand on.

  • Fence faces both sides

Front and back runs washed where we have neighbor-side access.

How the visit goes

Decks take two to four hours; fences depend on linear footage. Please clear furniture, grills, and potted plants off the deck — we protect what stays with sheeting. Freshly washed wood needs 48 hours of dry weather before staining, and we’ll confirm the forecast with you when we schedule.

Deck & fence questions

Not the way we do it. We use wood-safe pressure, keep the wand moving with the grain, and let detergents do the heavy lifting. If your deck was previously damaged by a pressure washer, tell us — we can often minimize the appearance with brightening.

Absolutely — stain applied over gray, dirty wood fails early and looks blotchy. Our wash-plus-brightener is the prep step professionals require. Schedule staining 2–5 dry days after our visit.

Yes. Composite and PVC decks get an even gentler soft-wash pass that removes mold spotting and pollen film without scuffing the cap layer. No brightener needed — just a deep, safe clean.
