Case Study · Myers ParkStreak-Free Roofline
Roof treatment plus full house wash for a 1920s craftsman bungalow — black streaks, mossy ridges, and gray siding in one visit.
The challenge
This Myers Park bungalow had the trifecta: black algae streaking across the asphalt shingles, moss building up along the shaded ridge, and weathered gray-blue siding dulled by pollen seasons. A roofing company had suggested the streaks meant the roof was aging out. The shingles were actually mid-life — they were just dirty, and pressure washing them would have destroyed the granules that prove it.
Our approach
We treated the roof first with our zero-pressure algae solution, giving the north slope and ridge extra dwell time for the moss. While it worked, the crew soft-washed the siding, porch columns, and trim at garden-hose pressure. Gutters were flushed so dead roof growth didn’t dam the downspouts, and the beds got a full rinse afterward. One crew, one day, roof to foundation.
The outcome
The streaks rinsed away the same day and the moss released over the following rains — no granule loss, no lifted shingles, and a roof that looks years younger without a single repair. The siding’s original color came back with it, and the homeowner’s roofer agreed at the next inspection: full life remaining.
- Black streaks and ridge moss eliminated, granules intact
- Full siding wash bundled into the same visit
- Gutters flushed and landscaping rinsed on the way out
Streaks mean algae — not a new roof.
