The challenge

This NoDa garden patio barely saw direct sun, and it showed: a slick layer of moss and biofilm across the pavers, dark leaf stains settled into the texture, and weedy joints. The homeowners had stopped using it for gatherings because the surface felt slippery underfoot — a real concern with kids and grandparents visiting.

Our approach

We treated the biofilm first so the growth released fully instead of smearing, then washed at joint-safe pressure that cleaned the paver faces without blasting out sand. Leaf stains got a dedicated organic-stain treatment, edges and the seat wall were detailed by hand, and everything was rinsed furniture-ready — chairs back in place the same evening.

The outcome

The pavers regained their natural color variation and — more importantly — their grip. The homeowners hosted a cookout on it that weekend, and booked us for a yearly spring visit before pool season. No more slippery mornings, no more pulling weeds from every joint.
